Replacement for social

Bright sunlight, a set of bamboo chair facing the long never ending garden, a beautiful porcelain cup with steaming coffee on one hand and newspaper on the other. Well this is invariably the storyline for every coffee ad I see on TV. I used to wonder if this is ever true!!! I have never experienced anything of this sort in my life time. With my boxers, sitting beside the dining table (not beside the window, my already tanned skin might go even darker and I also don’t prefer the dust from the concrete jungle deposited on me) with hot steaming coffee in a stainless steel tumbler which quite literally burns my finger every time I touch it and hot news…not sure if there is hot news but sure the paper was hot with little coffee spilt on it. It was nothing different this Sunday…from sports page to front page one of the articles in the open page (now don’t give me that naughty look to say of course I have to open a page to read) caught my eye. The title read ‘ Come what may, Mera Bh

The Dark Night

It is still pretty dark and there are glimpses of the twilight round the corner. My eyes and ears were wide open as I looked around, we had kept vigil for more than 2 hours now; Switch’s confidence on a new low was facing down wards, Mosquito Repellent’s otherwise sliming face had a droopy look. Like a pulse monitor, Mrs. UPS’s gap between sob grew shorter and the inevitable moment of silence. Mr. Bulb and Mr. Tube showed a gloomy face, possibly the long vigil had taken the toll. The noisy and dancing Fanblade came to a standstill. I turned further to my right to see Fanblade’s cousin; AC had his jaws open with his pale white face. All of us shared our misery with inconsolable Mr. Mosquito. The twilight was out as the news of the inevitable spread, Mr. Kuku, Mr. & Mrs. Dog and Mr. Rooster cried their lungs out. All of us knew it was time to move on as I pushed myself up with a sigh to attend the Milkman and the newspaper boy. One thing that was firmly registered in my mind was

I Looked On...

Quiet careful not to get drenched in the rain, I checked different option to travel back home. Couple of friends do stay nearby but I still would have to find another mode of transport for 5 KM or so…By the time I got out of office, rain had subsided. One of my friends dropped me in a location that is close to my house. I got down from the car and jumped over a few puddles of water to reach a location where public busses were available for the rest of my journey. Creativity or innovation you may call it in the latest version of jargons but for this man it was his need My eyes stuck on a man who was trying to cross the road as I hopped past him. This man had no legs so he had bundled up few clothes under his bottom and a leather sheet over it to protect the wear and tear, his hands had a pair of slippers. His upright position would hardly let few strands of hair from his head cross the height of a car’s bonnet. I looked on… Infrastructure in India The zebra lines never seem t

Quote by Mr. Thiru

Cyclone Thane was hovering somewhere close to Chennai skies.   The winds were erratic and the rain gaining momentum, I decided to work from home. The year was drawing to a close and business was at its lowest – was the justification I gave to the ‘working from home’ status of mine, which more often than not turned out to be ‘working for home’ than ‘from home’. My friend (neighbor) and her family invited me for lunch and I was more than happy to get some tasty homemade food without venturing into the rain. Of course as all of us would do, I maintained a good boy image and answered precisely to the questions that were thrown at me. The topic switched to IT and Corporate life not only because my friend worked in one but also because their guest a well-mannered young man (well that is me) had the same back ground. Even though her parents were not too much acquainted with IT and related industry her Dad had his own say in the topic from the perspective of a retired EB engineer. The top
